Our client is a small, friendly, well established, and growing Accountancy Practice based over two sites in Herefordshire (Ross) and Gloucestershire. They specialist in providing valuable advice and support to their customers, across a variety of industries, including bookkeeping, accountancy, and taxation services.

The role of Bookkeeper is a key role within the team and whilst they’re flexible as to the specifics and very willing to teach, support and develop the skills of the right person, the main arears of interested are the following:

  • Recording financial transactions such as income and outgoings
  • Handling accounts payable and receivable.
  • Managing profit and loss statements and balance sheets
  • Maintaining company ledgers
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Processing payments
  • Conducting daily banking activities
  • Producing various financial reports
  • Reconciling reports to third-party records such as bank statements
  • Preparing month end management accounts
  • Posting of journals
  • VAT returns
  • Year end
  • Preparing and submitting monthly CIS returns
  • Preparation of payroll

Key Skills:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience preparing accounts for multiple clients.
  • Previous experience using SAGE and online software like Quickbooks & XERO.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential as you will be dealing with clients on a daily basis
  • Problem-solving skills
  • A genuine understanding of double entry bookkeeping
  • This is a permanent position and whilst full time is preferred, part time would be considered.
