Our client is a well-established, fast growing European market leading specialist in sustainable manufacturing services and Tier 1 partner to major OEMs, such as Ford, JLR, GM and many others. They are an entrepreneurial business, who, due to on-going expansion is committed to driving continuous improvement and strategic development throughout the business and now wish to appoint a new a capable Maintenance Engineer/Technician. Due to the nature of their work being supplied to OEMs, they are compliant with the highest quality standards, meaning it is a "best practice" environment, yet it is a smaller, more entrepreneurial company, making this a unique place to utilise and develop a broad range of skills and Experience.

Additionally, they have large projects kicking off - implementation of a new contract, high volume assembly line and also they’re moving factory, to a new and all singing site, still in Weston.

The role of Maintenance Technician / Engineer is vital to the efficiency, development and progress of the manufacturing process lines. Working closely with other technical professionals, you'll improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes. You will support the Factory Services & Maintenance Team Leader as follows:

  • Design and where necessary manufacture new tooling and equipment to support new processes and products
  • Complete daily TPM activity ensuring accurate records of work done and parts used are maintained to reduce unplanned downtime
  • Attend critical equipment breakdowns to diagnose faults and ensure production is resumed as soon as possible
  • Contribute to the planning and organisation of new production lines and processes into the business
  • Assist with production line moves
  • Supervise contractors when on site, completing induction (pre-works) and snagging (postworks)
  • Support production areas with replacement tooling as required, offering design improvements to eliminate failure modes
  • Liaise with suppliers to source required components at best cost / lead time
  • Contribute to clearing of open 'Work Service Request’ tickets in a timely manner
