Located: Nr Hay on Wye

Salary - £25,000 to £40,000 (dependant upon experience)

Our client is a Family with a wide array of business and personal enterprises. These include farming, holiday lets, property renovation/rental, investments, philanthropic activity, and an ongoing array of new projects. This is a fast-paced operation, juggling many balls at any one time, yet they are very down to earth and extremely friendly.

Due to the ongoing growth of the workload, the time has come to appoint someone to assist in the administration of all business activities, as well as to support the family in undertaking some of the life administration too.

The role will be flexible, 2/3 days based on site, working in an idyllic setting and fitting into the well establish support team and the rest based from your own home. The role is full time but they could consider four full days too.

This is the first time that they have appointed this role and it will therefore evolve as the successful applicant settles in and makes it their own. Systems will be developed, IT & processes implemented and your willingness to be flexible will be important.

The fast-paced nature of the operation and the extent of the variety of the family’s business interests mean you will need to be able to multitask, often needing to react to changes in priority of your focus. You will be highly organised, attentive to detail, commercially savvy, diligent, hardworking and implicitly trustworthy.

Role description

  • Liaison with third parties (accountants, bankers and solicitors) on behalf of the family
  • Setting up and management of philanthropic/commercial/ad-hoc projects as and when required.
  • Administrative support

o drafting and dispatching reports, emails, agendas, carrying out market/other research, banking, diary management, making travel and accommodation arrangements, basic accounting (bank/credit card reconciliations/invoicing/making payments).

  • Generally offering support for the running of the day to day interests of this busy family - arranging maintenance for properties and machinery, purchasing, monitoring and helping with all areas of day to day life.
  • Using your IT skills to review and implement processes and tools.

You should have a high level of independence and initiative and be able to prioritise multiple tasks efficiently.
