Customer Liaison Officer

Our client is one of six companies in the UK that are privileged to have been appointed as an Operator of the UK’s Seasonal Workers Scheme. This scheme is a new, post Brexit, solution to the staffing challenges faced but the UK horticultural industry in that, Operators are able to source and issue Visa’s to workers from foreign countries, to bring them to the UK and to allocate them work on specific UK farms.

The scheme presents challenges and, with the support of the Home Office and Defra, it is of paramount importance that all areas of the supply chain are effectively managed, that communication flows freely and in a timely basis between all stakeholders and, of primary importance, is the ongoing welfare of all workers.

In 2023 our client will issue around 7500 visa’s. Our client are a quality operator - leading the way in compliance & welfare and a key player in the on-going success of the British horticultural sector.

They now seek to appoint two new people to work as a conduit between all stakeholders, managing and working with the workers whilst they’re in the UK, and developing value adding relationships with the farms.

About the role

This is largely a field based role, spending much of the week visiting farms in your area, interviewing workers and meeting the customer, with around one day a week working from home, report writing and e-mail/phone communication being done. You will manage your own diary but visiting clients will make up the majority of your week - you will be highly organised and a proven people person. A full UK driving licence is required to perform the role.

We are looking for an approachable cheerful person able to build rapport at all the levels. Someone who would feel comfortable in the field in their wellies interviewing person from Kyrgyzstan about their working experience in a downpour as well as discussing the most current Home Office decisions on immigration with the farm manager in their office while having an afternoon tea.

It is a very versatile, challenging but definitely never boring position that requires a lot of self-motivation but it's very rewarding as you are able to make a change in a lot of people lives.

Key responsibilities

Must speak Russian language

Hold UK full driving licence

Maintain and develop relationship with clients;

Build trust-based relationship with the workers;

Conduct worker interviews on client premises;

Prepare reports based on the findings from the interviews;

Escalate any abnormal findings;

Make recommendations for corrective actions, monitor their implementation.
